Methodology
Every price on this site comes from the vendor's own pricing page, read on 8 October 2026, and is stored with the exact words it came from. The build refuses to publish a figure that isn't in its quote.
Reading the pages
- Each pricing page was requested once with a plain HTTP request. Where a page answered but builds its prices with JavaScript (Mangools, Sitebulb, Wincher, Profound, Peec AI, AthenaHQ and Trakkr), it was opened in a plain headless browser; billing or currency switches were used only where the page offers them.
- A page that refused the plain request (an HTTP 403 or a bot check) was left out, not retried another way: SpyFu, Goodie AI and ZipTie.
- 159 quotes back the figures. Each plan names its quotes, and at build time every price, keyword count, seat count and prompt count is matched against them; a mismatch stops the build. Each pricing page lists its quotes under "Where these figures come from".
Currencies
Prices are shown in the currency the page showed. Sistrix, Mangools, Surfer, Wincher and Peec AI showed euros (some set the currency by the visitor's country; we read them from Europe). To compare, euro prices are converted at the European Central Bank's reference rate of 1.1177 dollars per euro for 7 October 2026, and the converted figures are marked "≈". A visitor elsewhere may be shown different local prices. Taxes are not included; Sistrix states its prices are plus taxes.
Comparing plans
- Plans are compared billed monthly unless a page says otherwise; yearly prices are the monthly equivalent the vendor states (or its yearly total divided by 12). Writesonic lists only yearly prices and what yearly billing saves, so its monthly price is worked out from those two figures.
- Where a tool lists no yearly price, the calculators' yearly view uses its monthly price: that is what a year costs on it.
- Whole plans only: add-ons, overage and extra-keyword packs aren't used to fill a gap, which can overstate the cost just above a plan's limit. "From" prices are labelled as such.
- A limit a page doesn't state is treated as unknown, never guessed: a plan without a stated number of users isn't priced per user, and one without stated engines isn't counted for an engine requirement.
Tracked keywords
- A plan counts for rank tracking if its page states how many keywords it tracks and how often. A daily plan also covers weekly tracking.
- AWR counts a keyword updated daily as 7 weekly units, as its pricing page explains.
- Serpstat sells position checks a month; we count one check per keyword per update. Serpstat's page doesn't spell this out, so its keyword figures carry that assumption.
- Moz's pricing page doesn't say how often rankings update, so it counts for weekly tracking only.
AI prompts and answers
- Vendors bill AI visibility tracking by prompt, by answer, by check or by credit. We compare per tracked prompt where a plan states prompts, and per 1,000 AI answers everywhere a monthly answer count can be stated or worked out.
- Where a vendor doesn't state its monthly answers, we count prompts × engines × 30 for daily tracking (52/12 updates a month for weekly), the same 30-day month Searchable, Gauge and Ahrefs use in their own figures.
- Credits and checks count as answers where the vendor says one buys one answer (AthenaHQ, Ahrefs Brand Radar) or states the answers a plan covers (Rankscale).
- Prompt tracking that comes inside an SEO suite is listed separately: the suite's price buys the SEO tools as well.
How lists are ordered
Every ranking on this site is ordered by computed cost for the scenario stated beside it (a keyword count, a team size, a number of prompts), cheapest first, billed monthly unless you switch the calculator to yearly. Ties are shown as ties. No vendor pays for inclusion or position, and whether a vendor has an affiliate programme plays no part in the order.
Left out
- SpyFu: Its pricing page refused our plain request (HTTP 403, a Cloudflare check), so we left it out.
- Ubersuggest: Its pricing page sets the currency by the visitor's country and builds the prices with JavaScript. Read from Sweden it showed Swedish kronor only, so we can't state its US dollar prices.
- Goodie AI: Its pricing page refused our plain request (HTTP 403, a Cloudflare check), so we left it out.
- ZipTie: Its pricing page refused our plain request (HTTP 403, a Cloudflare check), so we left it out.
- Profound publishes prices for agencies only; brands get a free trial and custom Enterprise quotes.
- Data quality, speed and accuracy: we haven't used or tested these tools for this site, so we compare only what they cost and what their plans include.
How this site earns
Links to vendors' pricing pages go through this site's own redirect (/go/…). Once a vendor's affiliate programme accepts the site, that link may earn a commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you, and it is then labelled "Affiliate link". No programme has accepted the site yet, so today no link here earns anything. Rankings and figures are the same either way. The site shows no ads.
The site's one product of its own is a guide, The SEO Playbook for 2027 (not on sale yet). It has no bearing on the prices or the order of any list.
Keeping prices current
Every week a script re-reads 30 of the pricing pages and compares the prices on them with the last reading. A change is checked on the vendor's own page before the data, the quotes and the pages are updated. If a figure here is wrong or out of date, write to the address on the about page; a figure is only ever changed to what the vendor's own page says.
Prices read from each vendor's own pricing page on .
